Protecting Small Players
Morale, protected storage, walls — the mechanics that keep bullies in check.
Being small doesn't mean being helpless. Several mechanics deliberately blunt big players attacking little ones — know them, and you'll survive long enough to stop being small.
Morale
When a much larger player attacks a much smaller one, the attacker fights at reduced strength. The penalty is based on the points ratio between the two players and can cut the attacker's strength all the way down to a 33% floor. Morale never applies against barbarian villages — farms are always fair game.
The warehouse hides your stock
The warehouse protects part of your resources from plunder — the protected share rises with warehouse level. Even a raid that wipes your garrison can't touch the protected portion, which makes constantly farming a small player far less profitable than it looks.
Walls fight even when you can't
Your wall adds flat defense even with no troops at home. It won't stop a real army by itself, but it makes lazy raids bleed — and it multiplies whatever defense you do station behind it.
See them coming
Keep scouts stationed at home: they're the only thing that catches enemies scouting you, and knowing you've been scouted is the earliest warning an attack is being planned (see Scouting).
